This morning she was crawling all around and I asked Ellie "Where are my snuggles" She crawled right over to me and laid her head on my chest. It was the sweetest thing ever!

This picture is from last weekend. I thought she was done with her nap so I got her out of my crib and she feel back asleep on my chest! I got a good 20 or 30 minutes of snuggles and loved every second.

Project 52:5 - No Hands

Ok ok.. I know I am WAY behind. I seem to always get behind on EVERYTHING when Jeremy is on an in-patient month. February he was on OB which means that he worked 17 days straight before he had a day of. He would get up at 4:30am and get home around 6:30pm. He is now on an elective month so things are going much better. :)

Ellie is growing like crazy and is more and more fun everyday. Her new favorite thing is "No Hands". She Stands herself up, lets go, and puts her hands in the air for balance. Whenever she does this we always cheer and say "no hands" and she gets this super proud look on her face. I know this not the greatest picture (out of focus/taken on my iphone) but I still love it anyways.

Project 54:4 - sick sick sick

So I am already falling a little behind. Last Wednesday we flew up to Northern CA on Wednesday to celebrate Christmas with Jeremy's family. We were in Turlock for 2 days then went to my parents for one night and flew back on saturday morning because Jeremy had to work on Sunday.
Ellie did great on the plane, especially since it was past her bed time and the flight was empty so she got her own seat and slept the whole way! Watching her sleep she looked so peaceful and it made me realize what a BUSY baby she is these days! She is constantly on the move crawling, pulling herself up, trying to stand with no hands, bouncing bouncing bouncing. She is such a determined and motivated little thing.

Project 52

WOW time flies… apparently it has been a while since my last blog… like over a year and a half! I didn’t even realize how long it had been until I went to post this!

Since then SO much has happened! We have a beautiful 6 month old, Jeremy is almost done with residency (6 more months) and life is just treating us well! For the first time in a long time I can truly say I love my life!

While I obviously have not been blogging, I have been very inspired by other people’s blogs. I bought a sewing machine and started sewing, I made a wreath, I have been baking and cooking, I read my DSLR manual and am starting to take more “fancy” pictures. I love that creative people share their creative ideas so that I can be inspired and pretend to be crafty and creative myself!

That being said, one of my favorite blogs http://www.styleberryblog.com/ (by my friend Shawna that I went to high school with) is doing “Project 52”. Because time goes by WAY too fast and life just gets busy, I want to start blogging again as a reminder to stop and consciously remember all the little things. My goal is to take a picture once a week that represents what is going on in our lives.

This picture was taken on Monday. Never would guess that she got her 6 month shots about 15 minutes before this picture was taken, she is such a happy baby! “Da-da” (Ellie’s favorite and only word) had to work all night so we stayed for dinner. While we ate, Ellie crawled and explored. She loves trying to pull herself up and has been successful a few times.

Jeremy is OFFICIALLY a second year resident

Today Jeremy graduated from being an intern and officially became a second year resident. This means that he should start working fewer hours and may get to have a social life again. This past year he spent over 70 nights at the hospital and averaged 80 hour work weeks. We have a few things planned for the summer like a trip to Palm Desert, camping at the beach and a surprise weekend for our anniversary. We are really looking forward to spending some quality time together hanging out and relaxing.

Here are some pictures from graduation today.

Be Wise Ranch

I am excited! Jeremy and I just signed up and are the newest members of Be Wise Ranch. This is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) that grows all organic vegetables. Every other week we get to pick up a large box of fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies. Not only will this hopefully help us to start eating healthier, but also try new things. We are picking up out first box next week!
If anyone has recommendations for websites to look up recipes let me know.
If you live in the San Diego are and want to check them out here is the website.
http://bewiseranch.com/index.htm

Update...

So for those of you who have not heard, this week has been a rough week. Last Tuesday I went in for my first ultra sound appointment. Jeremy and I were so excited to see the baby and hoped to hear the heart beat. When they went to do the ultra sound they could see the sac but no baby. According to my last period I was supposed to be 11 1/2 weeks pregnant.

Since they couldn't see the baby only the sac, they sent me for a more formal (hi-tech) ultra sound and were able to see that the baby was measuring as 5 weeks and 5 days old and the sac was 7 weeks old. Since I still had morning sickness, have had no cramping or bleeding or any other sign of a miscarriage, we decided to wait a week and go back for a repeat ultra sound to be 100% sure that it wasn't what they thought.

Today was the repeat ultra sound and everything looked the same so I am going in tomorrow for a D&C. We had prepared ourselves for the worst so today was not as shocking as the week before, but we are pretty devastated. We are healing and dealing each day trying to look at the positives like at least now we know we CAN get pregnant. We also have felt so loved and really feel thankful for our friends and family who have really embraced us been there for us!

On a happier note, we leave for Hawaii on Sunday! God must have known when we planned this trip that we were going to NEED it!

FAQ's

Sorry i have not updated the blog in a while.
I don't have a whole lot to report.
I went in for my OB registration appointment so they drew my blood and everything from that looks good. I am now on anti nausea medicine so my morning sickness is much better and under control. (all i have to say is thank God for Zofran).
Jeremy and i snuck into a room at the hospital to do an ultrasound when i was at 9 weeks to try and see the baby but didn't have any luck, still too little.
I go in a week from today for my 10-12 week appointment so i am hoping to have a picture to post from that.

So i have been getting a lot of the same questions and thought I would post the answers here.

What is my due date? May 16th

Are we going to find out if it is a boy or girl? HECK YES! I am WAY too much of a planner not to find out. If i could find out today i would!

What do we want it to be? At first i really didn't care but Jeremy really wanted a boy so I thought i wanted a boy too. Now that I have been looking at more baby stuff i decided that girl stuff is way cuter so I think i want a girl. Although are both just so excited to have a baby we will be happy no matter what :)

Am i showing yet? Nope. i feel bloated and can;t suck my tummy in like i used to be able to, but i am still able to wear almost all my clothes and if you didn't know i was pregnant you probably wouldn't be able to tell.

Disneyland 1/2 Marathon

When we first moved to Oceanside it was right around the time that i finished school and started working at home more so there went both of my excuses for being "too busy" to work out. In order to "motivate" me to work out I signed Jeremy and I up for a 1/2 Marathon. Like most things new, in the beginning I made this whole training schedule and what we needed to do everyday in order to be ready for the big day. Of course that lasted for about a week and by race day the farthest I had ever run was 6 or 7 miles.

With a dubious husband along side me to both of our amazement we finished. Jeremy jsut under 3 hours and me just over 3 hours.
