Update...

So for those of you who have not heard, this week has been a rough week. Last Tuesday I went in for my first ultra sound appointment. Jeremy and I were so excited to see the baby and hoped to hear the heart beat. When they went to do the ultra sound they could see the sac but no baby. According to my last period I was supposed to be 11 1/2 weeks pregnant.

Since they couldn't see the baby only the sac, they sent me for a more formal (hi-tech) ultra sound and were able to see that the baby was measuring as 5 weeks and 5 days old and the sac was 7 weeks old. Since I still had morning sickness, have had no cramping or bleeding or any other sign of a miscarriage, we decided to wait a week and go back for a repeat ultra sound to be 100% sure that it wasn't what they thought.

Today was the repeat ultra sound and everything looked the same so I am going in tomorrow for a D&C. We had prepared ourselves for the worst so today was not as shocking as the week before, but we are pretty devastated. We are healing and dealing each day trying to look at the positives like at least now we know we CAN get pregnant. We also have felt so loved and really feel thankful for our friends and family who have really embraced us been there for us!

On a happier note, we leave for Hawaii on Sunday! God must have known when we planned this trip that we were going to NEED it!

FAQ's

Sorry i have not updated the blog in a while.
I don't have a whole lot to report.
I went in for my OB registration appointment so they drew my blood and everything from that looks good. I am now on anti nausea medicine so my morning sickness is much better and under control. (all i have to say is thank God for Zofran).
Jeremy and i snuck into a room at the hospital to do an ultrasound when i was at 9 weeks to try and see the baby but didn't have any luck, still too little.
I go in a week from today for my 10-12 week appointment so i am hoping to have a picture to post from that.

So i have been getting a lot of the same questions and thought I would post the answers here.
  • What is my due date? May 16th
  • Are we going to find out if it is a boy or girl? HECK YES! I am WAY too much of a planner not to find out. If i could find out today i would!
  • What do we want it to be? At first i really didn't care but Jeremy really wanted a boy so I thought i wanted a boy too. Now that I have been looking at more baby stuff i decided that girl stuff is way cuter so I think i want a girl. Although are both just so excited to have a baby we will be happy no matter what :)
  • Am i showing yet? Nope. i feel bloated and can;t suck my tummy in like i used to be able to, but i am still able to wear almost all my clothes and if you didn't know i was pregnant you probably wouldn't be able to tell.

Disneyland 1/2 Marathon

When we first moved to Oceanside it was right around the time that i finished school and started working at home more so there went both of my excuses for being "too busy" to work out. In order to "motivate" me to work out I signed Jeremy and I up for a 1/2 Marathon. Like most things new, in the beginning I made this whole training schedule and what we needed to do everyday in order to be ready for the big day. Of course that lasted for about a week and by race day the farthest I had ever run was 6 or 7 miles.

With a dubious husband along side me to both of our amazement we finished. Jeremy jsut under 3 hours and me just over 3 hours. Right after the race i thought i was going to DIE and vowed never to do another one, but we have already started talking about next year.
Baby Ramsey ran with us too! We just didn't know it on race day!

6 weeks

So i thought i was going to be one of the lucky ones who didn't get the curse of morning sickness. With the exception of a cold where i went through about a box of kleenex a day i was feeling great until yesterday.

At the beginning of week six the morning sickness has begun...Although i am not sure why it is called morning sickness because really, it lasts all day.

On to more exciting stuff... I am leaving tomorrow morning for Chicago. I am going for work and will get back late Thursday night.
